The Design & Drafting department plays an important role helping to facilitate the successful delivery of complex projects. The team is made up of multi-disciplined engineers, designers and technical specialists, who collaborate with each other to provide coordinated engineering solutions that meets the defined objectives.
Design Engineer Role:
We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic & highly motivated Design Engineer within our Design & Drafting department.
As a member of the Design & Drafting department, the role will be based at our Tockwith office, York, with primary focus on the design and engineering of projects spanning the architectural, construction, exhibition, and live event sectors. Whilst experience within these fields would be a distinct advantage, consideration will be given to candidates with exceptional skillsets from other sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce drawings that are suitable for manufacturing and installation purposes.
- Provide advanced design solutions on projects.
- Produce 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
- Check drawings by others, ensuring their fitness for purpose.
- Act as drafting lead on single and multi-disciplined projects as and when required.
- Liaise with other members of the project team to achieve a coordinated engineering solution that meets the defined objectives.
- Ensure that quality and consistency of output (drawings, models etc.) is always maintained.
- Assist in the development of processes to improve efficiency and project delivery.
- Mentor and develop junior team members.
- Provide technical support to the Production Team.
