We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join a great team of people and make a difference within a supportive and values-led Organisation.
Overall Purpose of the Role: To generate new business leads and provide support to the Commercial Team as required. This is a targeted position with the key area of focus being on new business generation for the group. This is a field sales position with no fixed location, either working in the field or at home. This roles purpose is to increase income and revenue by managing and negotiating with clients, generating leads and qualifying prospects.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead generation of waste from new waste sources for the group
- Targeted on generation of new business secured
- Build and manage a business pipeline.
- Nurture new business relationships to maximise contract efficiencies.
- Managing own pipeline to ensure that all leads are effectively controlled.
- Ensure existing client retention and explore development of new business from existing clients
- Build effective relationships with existing Commercial Team.
- Build productive relationships with new customers to maximise ongoing business.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental and Animal-by-products (ABP) permits
- Ensure sampling of potential feedstock is timely/rigorous and meets predefined standards
- Attend meetings, sales events and trainings to keep abreast of developments in business
Liaise with third party hauliers to ensure the scheduled delivery of feedstock into the plant does not impact either biogas production, feedstock processing, EA permit conditions or planning restrictions
Person Specification:
- Previous Anaerobic Digestion knowledge
- Field Sales experience
- Waste Industry experience
- Previous experience managing portfolio of leads Track record of lead generation and successes
- Excellent communicator
- Computer Literate
- Motivated Self–Starter
- Ability to write clear and concise English
- Ability to present in meetings and build relationships with stakeholders
