Welfare Rights Team Leader

Team: Welfare Rights Team

Location: Preston (with remote/home working too)

Salary: £36,298 to £41,496 (Grade 9)

We are currently recruiting…

We are looking for a Team Leader with the knowledge and expertise to manage an experienced and dedicated team of Welfare Rights Officers. The team provide a comprehensive casework service for the most vulnerable residents in Lancashire, often working with colleagues in Adult Social Care and Children's Services. The team also provide training on benefit issues, consultancy support to colleagues within the Council, updates on benefit issues via our website and intranet and our Teams forums, and much more to embed welfare rights advice where it is needed in the Council's statutory services.

You will be the operational lead and report to the Welfare Rights Manager, who sets the strategic direction of the service. You will work together to ensure the service continues to respond to the changing needs of the organisation and broader strategic outcomes.

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'.
