We're looking for a Chef to join our team at Shugborough Estate.

Hours: 1950 per year - Working 5 out of 7 days, on average 9am to 5pm
This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year
Salary: £25,500 per year
Duration: Permanent contract

What it's like to work here:Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you'll be based at Shugborough Estate, home to the Anson family since 1624. The estate includes a Georgian mansion house with magnificent views over the riverside garden terraces, Grade 1 listed parkland, walled garden and working farm. It also features a café and tea room, second-hand bookshop and two retail outlets. Shugborough is supported by a passionate, engaging and hardworking team of staff and volunteers who love what they do and love sharing it with visitors.

What you'll be doing:With your passion for food and your appetite to provide an exceptional service to your customers, you’ll work with the National Trust Cookbook framework to prepare delicious food.
You’ll enjoy preparing food from scratch using fresh/seasonal ingredients and will be confident with creating bakes, making soups, stews, sausage rolls and preparing & presenting food to order served directly to the customers over busy lunchtime periods.
You'll also be required to create and cost recipes that will be unique to Shugborough Estate.
As the most senior member of the Kitchen team, you'll have 5 direct reports.
You'll receive a bespoke induction and allergen/food safety training. Further professional training & development opportunities are available

- Experience as a chef within a professional setting
- Experience managing a team

- Knowledgeable of budgets, including stock and waste management
- Aware of Health & Safety compliance
