Westover Gallery are looking for a self driven and dynamic person in luxury sales for our new opening in the market town of Ringwood. The successful applicant must have a full driving licence, excellent sales record alongside a happy cheerful personality who is self driven.
In this exciting new gallery in the thriving market town of Ringwood, your management and sales role is key to the success of a new business. You will be working in a small team whose love for our art and passion for customer service are key to our success. As an independent Art Gallery, we represent and sell art and sculpture by artists from the UK and around the world so a proven track record in luxury retail or sales is preferred.
As Luxury sales Manager, you’ll provide an exceptional standard of customer service to all clients. You’ll drive the gallery to exceed its realistic but challenging sales targets and manage the day-to-day running of the gallery. This will include assisting the Sales Director on a daily basis, motivating the sales team, thinking of new and exciting marketing ideas to drive the gallery forward, organising & selling art, rehanging the gallery, coordinating gallery events and ensuring high gallery standards at all times.
You will be a self-motivated individual who understands the tastes and requirements of your clients and understands how to encourage new sales and develop successful relationships - ultimately a candidate that feels as passionate about selling art and providing a personal and unique service to our clients as we do.
Personality is important, we recruit warm and engaging individuals who create the right atmosphere in the gallery and lead their team. You’ll inspire your team, supporting them in achieving their sales targets and developing their career.
This is a full time permanent role within a small team, so willingness to be adaptable and make a difference is key. We are open 7 days a week, with full time staff working a rota of 5 days. This role requires weekend and occasional evening work

Key responsibilities
- Day to day running of the gallery and will be totally focused on providing the right environment for success
- Daily contact with our clients, responding to interest in the gallery and developing further business through use of the client database & social media
- Build business relationships as well as retail client relationships
- Organise and run gallery events on and off site
- Work towards realistic but challenging individual and gallery sales targets
- Confident in all stages of sales (from identifying the opportunity to closing sales)
- Lead and manage a small team of Sales Consultants, motivating the team to achieve results and sales targets
- Manage performance (one-to-one meetings, annual appraisals, training)
- Ensure that the gallery looks tidy and presentable all the time
Skills and experience required to become our Gallery Sales Manager:
- Solid track record of achieving sales targets in a luxury retail environment, whilst managing & encouraging a team
- Commitment to quality customer service and the drive for results
- Motivated by commissionable sales
- Passionately enthusiastic about life in general and your job in particular you will be someone who has extremely high standards
- Possessing charisma and common sense
- Inspiration to your team and a valued expert to your clients
- A detailed knowledge of fine art is not necessary, however ambition, willingness to learn and a drive to achieve exceptional results is essential
- A driving license is also highly desirable as you may be required to undertake home consultation visits with clients
