Reporting to the Head of Operational Safety for Core Manufacture, the Safety Performance and Improvement Manager leads the Core Manufacturing Organisational Learning (LC7) process, the Capability Team and the Nuclear Material Accountancy Assurance team in support of the business priorities and maintains and assures compliance with relevant company and statutory requirements.
You will be responsible for maintaining, assuring, and improving the processes for supporting the manufacturing teams in these functional areas. You will have several stakeholder interfaces requiring collaborative leadership to enable delivery and improvements to be embedded and sustained.

What you will be doing:
You will be setting expectations and leading by example. Lead improvements to Core Manufacture Organisational Learning, Capability and Nuclear Material Accountancy processes by proposing and implementing changes.

Representing the business on functional initiatives and leading changes. Engage beyond your sites on initiatives to optimise the programme.

Guide your team, including their development where applicable.

Providing the functional support to the Core Manufacturing teams for event investigations and action management. Focusing on continual improvement for the RRSL Organisational Learning (LC7) management arrangements and support the implementation and ongoing activities to ensure appropriate investigations and actions are defined and delivered across Core Manufacturing.

Ensuring simple agile systems are in place to enable compliance with training and competency requirements to ensure a capable workforce. Ensuring that training is defined and delivered in an appropriate manner to meet the business needs.

Ensuring that the assurance of Nuclear Material Accountancy is appropriately delivered to meet the regulatory requirements.

Support the review and improvement of the Safety Performance of the Core Manufacturing teams.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
