The Vice President of Data, and Analytics is accountable to partner with Global Functions (Finance, Procurement, Legal, HR, Compliance, Facilities) stakeholders to lead the transformation of GSK’s data and analytics journey from traditional BI reporting to advanced analytics/AI capabilities. In scope for this role is to leverage modern data platform and advanced capabilities such as AI and ML to amplify insights leading to high impact business outcomes.
This role will act as a technology thought leader and will be a key member of GSK’s D&A Federation.
Responsibilities

Creating a data strategy and three-year roadmap for the next generation of Global Functions’ data and analytics capabilities, as well as driving and migrating key data assets to Code Orange (GSK’s modern data platform MS Azure)

Leading the technology transformation of a traditional BI/reporting stack to democratize data and help GSK’s Global Functions organization leverage big data and advanced analytics for value

Driving the talent transformation of the Global Functions Data and Analytics team to be fit and ready for a digital future

Leading operating model transformation from project delivery to integrated agile Product teams that deliver value frequently and delight GSK’s business partners in Global Functions

Owning responsibility for agile planning, development, and operational support of all current and future global data and analytics products/solutions

Overseeing architecture and providing guidance for Global Functions’ data and analytics, including Cloud and edge computing

Managing the active life cycle and total cost of ownership of the legacy data and analytics footprint while shifting investment to build up advanced analytics capabilities in support of GSK’s Data and Analytics ambition

Establishing an active partnership with the Enterprise Data and Analytics Federation as well as Data and Analytics leaders across Pharma, Vaccines, R&D, and Supply Chain to shape GSK’s enterprise data and technology vision
- Maintaining an external presence to represent GSK Tech, capture and report relevant tech intelligence, and to be a talent magnet to attract data and analytics talent to GSK
- Building a state-of-the-art data platform to democratize data and help GSK business leaders and data scientists across all product lines to be data driven in the Finance, HR, Compliance, Procurement, Legal, WREF, and supporting process strategies to improve the efficiency of operations
- Strategically aligning with the Global Functions organization and translate their vision into a data and analytics capability set that will enable GSK’s digital future
Experience

Significant leadership experience, working in enterprise technology environment with significant focus in using advanced analytics to deliver business value

Strong preference for direct or indirect experience in working with BioPharmaceutical Corporate environment

Demonstrable knowledge of how data and analytics technologies can enable value generation in regulated industries
-
Deep content knowledge of traditional Data & Analytics as well as Modern Big Data technology stack and applications

Demonstrable experience in transforming an enterprise grade data & analytics organization from traditional BI/Reporting to a modern advanced analytics footprint while delivering value to the company

Proven credibility with Tech as well as Business Leaders at executive level

Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to influence sr. leadership and decision-making using data, market evidence

Experience operating agile product teams to deliver value early and often to the business

Relentless in delivering business outcomes and value and simplification with a passion for helping patients do more, feel better and live longer.
