Field Based Engineer with Company Car, covering the North of England....
As a Field Engineer you will sit within the Group Field Engineering Team, reporting directly to a Service Delivery Manager (SDM). This team are responsible for providing technical services to our customers across different regions.
The main duties carried out by a Field Engineer are installations and commissioning of new systems; upgrades of existing systems to latest software and/or hardware as required; ongoing break-fix as well as BAU support to systems and other related tasks. This involves regular customer interaction for delivering technical solutions and working in collaboration with other Network consultants as well as Senior Network Consultants.

What you’ll do
As a Field Engineer your key duties will include:

Deliver the service purchased by customers as efficiently as possible ensuring the relevant procedures are followed and achieve the best possible customer experience.

Keep customers fully informed of the progress of the work while working on site, by giving regular updates.

Provide thorough and timely reports, clearly indicating where problems have arisen and the steps taken to overcome the problems, including references, where logged so that historic issues can be referred to. Log all issues as required and provide references.

Escalate any critical technical issues with customers’ systems in a timely manner to Senior Network Consultants, or SDM as well as EMIS Health Support team for speedy resolution to avoid disruption and inconvenience to customers.

Guard against data loss, and ensure the security of business, clinical and personal data at all times.

Complete all personal admin as required including regular synchronisation of software and documentation held locally on work laptop as well as portable USB hard drives. Submit monthly mileage report using the semi-automated system in use.

Maintain a current boot stock level at all times, adhering to the procedure of stock replenishment.

Perform SafeStore audits as and when required by SDM.
Although this is a national role that may require cross-region travel and site visits with some overnight stays, every effort is made to assign jobs within a region.
Who you’ll be
You will have the ability to perform highly in a multi-faceted role, including technical knowledge of our products/services; willingness to learn and follow emerging new products and trends; ability to work as part of team as well as the confidence to work independently.

Knowledge in any of our Primary Care, Community, Pharmacy markets, private sector and associated products and services with an aspiration to gaining an all-round understanding of all.

Strong communications and IT experience - including knowledge of current and past Microsoft server and Workstation operating systems, ideally with virtualisation technologies experience (Hyper V) or would be willing to learn.

Knowledge of current Windows Operating systems including installation and troubleshooting

TCP/IP and Windows networking skills essential, including joining an active directory domain and making essential configuration changes

Full UK driving license required

MS Active Directory installation and configuration skills desirable

Additional skills and experience of configuration, troubleshooting and management of switches and routers desirable.

Excellent planning, reporting and organisational skills

Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

Must be enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) cleared.

Appropriate technical qualifications are an advantage. Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), Microsoft role-based certifications, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, ITIL Foundation etc.
