Jacobs are looking for Project Manager Degree Apprentices to join our vibrant Decommissioning Projects team based in Birchwood Park, Warrington. As a Project Manager Degree Apprentice at Jacobs, you will be enrolled onto a scheme that will develop you to attain the knowledge, skills & behaviours that are required of a professional Project Manager.
What are we looking for?
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be working on a variety of interesting projects, managing a multi-disciplinary team to solve technical problems. As a Project Manager you will need to communicate with your team effectively to ensure that they understand the Client’s objectives and deliver the project requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Management of projects throughout the whole project lifecycle from initial set up to completion and close out.
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams to produce deliverables and meet project objectives.
- Monitoring and reporting project performance against cost, schedule, quality, and safety.
- Coordinating and leading communication with both internal and external stakeholders; chairing meetings, taking minutes, tracking actions.
- Preparing risk registers and managing risks and opportunities on projects.
- Preparation of proposals including production of cost and schedule estimates.
We are looking for bright individuals with an enquiring mindset who are self-motivated, communicate well with others and are great team players.
How will the apprenticeship be delivered?
Years 1-3 Apprentices will attend the workplace 4 days a week and continue their academic studies 1 day a week at our local training provider.
Year 4 – Apprentices will attend the workplace full time (5 days a week), gaining knowledge & experience to complete their Degree Apprenticeship End Point Assessment.
What qualifications will you get out of this?
- Level 6 ST0411 Project Manager (integrated degree) Apprenticeship
- Association for Project Management (APM) Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
- BSc (Hons) degree in Project Management
- Specific qualifications are subject to change and replaced with an equivalent.
How will you be assessed?
Throughout your apprenticeship you must complete a portfolio of evidence that is assessed against your apprenticeship standard. At the end of your apprenticeship, you will complete an End Point Assessment (EPA) which involves an interview from a qualified project manager, reviewing your compiled portfolio of evidence. On completion you will have demonstrated that you are a fully qualified & experienced project manager.

What are the entry requirements?
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades 9 to 4 (Grades A* to C) including Mathematics, English Language and one Science or Engineering subject.
- Minimum of 96 UCAS points at A-Level / T-Level, all subjects considered.
- Other Level 3 qualifications may be considered.
- Vocational equivalents at level 3 or higher will also be considered as equivalent to UCAS points.
