ATDBio, now part of Biotage, is an oligonucleotide synthesis provider specialising in the synthesis of high-quality modified oligonucleotides, with labs in Southampton and Oxford. Our oligonucleotides are used in some of the world’s most important companies and universities, in the fields of genetics, genomics, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, nanotechnology and therapeutics.
We are currently recruiting for an Oligonucleotide Synthesis Chemist to join our team in Southampton, supporting the production of high-quality modified oligonucleotides. The role involves carrying out cutting-edge oligonucleotide synthesis, purification and analysis, in addition to other laboratory work, following rigorous protocols to ensure that high standards of quality are met.
The successful candidate will have at least an undergraduate degree in chemistry or higher (PhD preferred). Experience working in a chemistry laboratory (in academia or industry) is essential.
Candidates will have experience in a broad range of laboratory disciplines, including:
- HPLC and mass spectrometry
- proven ability to work well both individually and as part of a small team
- ability to work methodically and with precision, maintaining a neat and clean environment.
- ability to keep accurate electronic laboratory records
- excellent spoken and written English
- experience with ISO 9001 is desirable but not essential
Experience in nucleic acid chemistry or oligonucleotide synthesis is desirable but not required. Full training will be provided.
