We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join Prof Robin P. Choudhury (PI), Dr Abhirup Banerjee (Supervisor). This project offers the exciting opportunity to solve a critical healthcare problem during real-time cardiac surgery. It involves elements of Cardiovascular Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, AI, Machine Learning (ML), Statistics and 3D Geometry.
You will be responsible for carrying out research in the field of cardiovascular image analysis and the development of novel AI/ML-based systems for non-invasive assessment of coronary blockages, blood flow, and myocardial perfusion. Additional duties include managing your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
You are required to hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or be near completion), together with relevant experience and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes. Prior experience in Biomedical Image Analysis and/or Machine Learning would be desirable.
This is a full time appointment and will be a shared appointment between the Banerjee Research Group in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBME) on the Old Road Research Campus, Headington, Oxford and the Choudhury Research Group in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM) at the Oxford John Radcliffe Hospital. The post is funded through the British Heart Foundation (BHF) for 1 year, with possibility of future extension.
