The PM CoE has moved on from being an engagement support centre of just 50 people to now identifying as a Centre of Excellence with circa. 300 professionals. The department is constantly evolving and still growing, it is fast-paced and varied comprising junior associate grades through to senior project and operational management and directors. All members of the department work together and alongside the Audit & Assurance practitioners to deliver high-quality outputs on client and internal engagements. The team members remove the admin burden on the wider A&A team by utilising experience and knowledge to undertake the service offering to a high standard.

The department boasts a clear career pathway allowing professional and driven individuals to work along a progression trajectory from associate to assistant project manager in four years, including formal Prince II practitioner accreditation. This pathway and progression is underpinned by it’s ability to deliver high-quality training that set’s all team members up for success.

The PM CoE supports our audit and assurance practitioners with project coordination and administration. The Learning & Development (L&D) team are responsible for providing new and existing team members with a positive and continued learning experience.

In your role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality training to enhance skillsets and continuously improve existing talent within the team and make a significant impact on the current and future growth and success of the department. Work with the existing Learning and Development team to drive continuous improvement of the PM CoE’s learning curriculum and materials. Looking for and identifying needs to improve the effectiveness of learning, conducting regular reviews of content and delivery methods to ensure optimal learner experiences, performance, and efficiencies are achieved.

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop and deliver induction training to a variety of grades during their first 12 weeks of employment
  • Creation and ongoing monitoring of an inclusive training environment with consideration of a broad range of learning styles
  • Oversight of training periods for new joiners, acting as a point of contact to triage queries and questions, providing responses to training queries, and informing of new joiner progress and considerations
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with PM CoE Management and Recruitment Teams to discuss themes and trends, process enhancements and future learning requirements

You will work as part of an established and structured team within a department that continues to grow at speed. The career pathway and people leadership structure will provide you with support and accountability to progress within your role and enable room for development and growth within the department and wider firm.

Essential:

  • A strong understanding of what makes an engaging training session using a breadth of methods and approaches
  • Personal motivation to deliver high-quality standards in all work and ability to see the impact that training has on other operational areas
  • Highly adaptable to change in an environment that continuously drives efficiencies and improvements
  • A passion for developing people, using coaching and mentoring experience to bring out the best results

Desirable:

  • Level 3, or above, training qualification; CIPD or equivalent
  • Performance/line management of junior colleagues
  • Experience specific to a professional services environment

Personal independence

We are subject to several audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints. This is a full-time, permanent contract opportunity with a requirement to be within a commutable distance. The role is primarily based in the Cardiff City Centre office with the occasional ability to work from home when gaps in training and oversight occur.
