Environmental and Sustainability Administrator
Eastbourne - Head Office
Full Time - 37.5 hours per week
Mondays to Fridays 8.30am to 5pm

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental & Sustainability Administrator to join the team at our Head Office which is based in Eastbourne.
This is a new role within Brewers providing essential support on a range of environmental issues that we are tackling as part of our plans for a carbon neutral future. We have some exciting projects ahead and have set ourselves ambitious targets for the journey to becoming more sustainable, which in the world of Painting and Decorating can cover many different aspects.
A highly visible role within the business, you will provide a comprehensive admin support to our Head of Sustainability and Legal & Estates Director with some responsibilities including collating and managing all environmental data from across our network of branches maintaining contracts and agreements where necessary, communicating out to colleagues any legislation and best practice updates, being an advocate for and promoting the Company’s Sustainability initiatives and working towards becoming an essential point of contact for all colleagues in our business on any Environmental queries and issues.
This role will be based at our Head Office in Eastbourne. Hybrid working may be considered however there is a need for the successful candidate to be in the office for the majority of the split.

Some key tasks in the role of an Environmental and Sustainability Administrator are:
- supporting the Head of Sustainability and the Legal & Estates Director to keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and current best practice
- collecting and monitoring all environmental data including energy consumption, waste disposal, mileages travelled for example
- acting as the point contact on paint can recycling and liaison with external third parties
- assisting with annual compliance returns including Planet Mark registration, Packaging Recycling Notes and Plastic Packaging Tax
- ensuring the Company’s registered waste carriers maintain their scheduled service to all Branches
- arranging ad-hoc waste collections for Branches with registered carriers
- providing secretarial support by coordinating meetings, travel and accommodation
- preparing PowerPoint presentations using data and statistics gathered
Who we are looking for:
- Previous administration experience – experience in an Environmental or Sustainability role would be beneficial but not essential
- Highly organised with a methodical approach and the confidence to plan and organise your workload effectively and accurately working on your own initiative and to deadlines
- Exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Confident with Microsoft Office suite to an intermediate level
- Excellent people skills with a friendly, approachable manner, enjoys working and supporting a team with the initiative to work as an individual at all times
- Exceptional attention to detail skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately to a high standard
