This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Digital Designer to join an expanding, well-established employer-owned (with all the benefits this brings) design agency in glorious Cheltenham. This is a permanent, full-time role. Hybrid working, ideally 2 to 3 days a week in the office the remainder from home. The salary on offer ranges between £40,000 – £55,000 (dependent on experience).

The Company

The agency was set up well over 25 years ago and is part of a larger independent PR and communications group, that recently celebrated becoming a fully employee-owned business (similar to Waitrose). After 35 years supporting clients through their growth, re-structure and change, their future remains proudly independent and firmly in their hands. They work in some of the most exciting sectors in the UK and their teams are responsible for award-winning campaigns. The Group offers a place to learn, develop and grow, with structured career development programmes and a varied client portfolio.

The agency works across multiple sectors, with a variety of brands (mostly B2B), with a particular focus on the built environment and racing and equestrian industries.

The studio is a relaxed and friendly place to work, with an experienced team delivering high-quality work across print, digital and social channels. Their retention of people is very impressive indeed.

The Role

The Senior Digital Designer will be responsible for the creative development of new digital projects as well as the implementation of established design strategies (for existing clients). This would be mainly web apps, websites, and micro-sites, with the potential for some social, email work, etc.

Being able to design through to production and build of a project and create high-quality visuals for presentation, through to wire-framing, to the creation of near pixel perfect files ready for Developers would also be a part of this varied role.

Proficient use of Sketch or Figma, Invision would be highly, highly desirable BUT skills in XD might also be workable from! Skills and experience with Adobe suite would be essential.

Some of the great benefits include: 25 days’ leave per year (including three days to be taken between Christmas and the News Year), a flexible working policy, with staff typically in the office two to four days a week. Employer contribution pension scheme, Life insurance and BUPA healthcare.

About You

The role would be best suited to a Senior Digital Designer (although promising lesser experienced candidates may be considered with a portfolio of work showing a variety of brilliantly executed, digital projects) and someone with a background of working in an agency environment and used to the demands of a busy studio.

The role requires a flexible and creative problem solver, with a broad range of skills, who can work collaboratively with other members of their design and in-house development teams.

You will be able to bring enthusiasm, knowledge, and experience to the role, and be prepared to share your insights with colleagues to help further grow and develop the team.

You will be happy working flexibly as part of a tight-knit team to meet often demanding deadlines. Candidates will require strong spoken and written communication skills, good presentation abilities and a confident, professional, and friendly manner. A person with strong organisational and time management capabilities, bringing good business sense and the ability to work to budgets, and good ‘people skills’ for working with a range of colleagues and clients is also required.

Any motion or video experience would be useful but not essential.
