The Commissioning Support Officer is a key role in providing effective business support across the People Strategy and Commissioning Team, where you will be communicating with several stakeholders and looking to improve efficiencies in the service, whilst reporting into the Associate Director for People Strategy and Commissioning.
The People Strategy and Commissioning Team sits within the People (Adults) Directorate and is responsible for commissioning, purchasing and market management across a broad range of areas. This includes Adults Social Care, Public Health and the Better Care Fund.
The service is engaged in a wide range of successful and established partnerships – both with other local authorities and with Public Health. The team works proactively with other departments in order to ensure the delivery of outcomes to local people. The team is committed to co-production and works closely with members of the Co-production Network to ensure that user experience is embedded into service design.
- Experience of providing business support.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Strong level of digital literacy, including office software suites and flexible ways of working (e.g. video conferencing, remote working).
- Proven track record of embracing digital approaches and new ways of working.
- Ability to interpret and analyse performance and finance information to feed into practice improvements and contribute to business planning
- Excellent written and oral communication, negotiating and influencing skills.
- Strong networking and presentation skills to relate effectively to employees, managers, members, the public and stakeholders and command their respect, trust and confidence.
