At L3Harris in Brighton we are part of Release Systems and the Mission Avionics sector operating in the Aerospace domain. We specialise in high performance electro-mechanical systems and pneumatic technology for airborne weapon carriage release.
What the role will involve
- Contribute to the design, development and execution of effective processes, procedures and plans for the testing and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems, assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Analysis of customer requirements for integration and/or testability.
- Review, analysis and the documentation of test results.
- Contribute to the generation of technical proposals, bids and presentations.
- Provide input and support to future trade studies.
- Design and develop test solutions by working closely with electrical and mechanical designers, production and manufacturing teams.
- Develop future test and qualification strategies for equipment and product solutions.
- Opportunities to participate in trials, customer demonstrations and acceptance testing in a range of locations worldwide.
What you’ll bring
- Achieved or working towards a degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering at a grade of at least 2:1. We will also consider alternative equivalent experience/qualifications (e.g. an Apprenticeship background).
- A passion for engineering, technology and problem solving.
- The ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including engineering, production, manufacturing, project managers and external customers.
- Excellent IT skills with some experience of LabVIEW software or data acquisition (DAQ) equipment or similar analysis software or tools.
- An understanding of systems engineering principles and development lifecycles including requirements, design and integration, validation and verification activities.
- Some prior knowledge of test fixtures, high-pressure pneumatics, equipment sensors such as accelerometers, load cells, pressure transducers, high-speed cameras and other laboratory test equipment such as multimeters, verniers, oscilloscopes etc. (Desirable)
