Job Purpose:
The effective management of the Security Department on a day to day basis ensuring that Labcorp Core Values are met at all times.
This job contributes to organizational success by:

Ensure the Safety, Security of the Staff, Visitors, Contractors to the site
Job Requirements:
The Security team provides 24 hour, 365 day cover for the site of 400+ employees.
They operate a 2 shift system, each shift being normally 12 hours. The contract is for 42 hours per week. This can change depending on the requirements of the site. Weekend, night and bank holiday working is essential. You will be expected to work some overtime should the demand on the company’s services warrant this.

The site is of approximately 110,000 square meters’ of laboratory and office accommodation on a 25 acre property and is fully covered by CCTV cameras; therefore part of the role will be operating the cameras to give 24-hour surveillance.

Booking in/out visitors and contractors. Ensuring that they are fully aware of the sites Health and Safety procedures

Taking telephone calls out of office hours, some of which will be international calls, therefore a good telephone manner is important.

Ensuring that checks are carried of the buildings internally and externally and are locked when not occupied by staff.

Ensuring regularly checks carried out on the steam generators and any faults are reported in a timely manners

Ensure all alarms are monitored and are dealt with in a timely manner, ensuring the appropriate personal are informed to deal with the alarm(s).

Personal will need to be physically fit, as night and weekend patrols of the site are essential.

Maintain a high standard of Uniform/Dress.

Maintain a high level of attendance throughout the year.

Maintain the highest standard of teamwork throughout the department incorporating the following:

Communication skills.

Relationships with co-workers.

Positive attitude and interest towards the role

Display adaptability within the role and working practices.

Ensure all site security equipment is kept in good working order and report defects in a timely manner.

Display an acceptable level of knowledge of all site emergency procedures in respect of the following:

Fire alarm procedure
-
Protestors at the site
-
Power cut procedure
-
Emergency Service(s) required on site
-
Ensure you keep up to date with all site security procedures, company policies and Site Operating Procedures.

Display sound knowledge of the site in respect of the following:
-
The function of each department (both companies)
-
Location of all the department on site (e.g. Block No’s)
-
Name of the manger of each department
-
Location of all first aiders on site
-
Cover the receipt and handling of samples in to the goods in office as require ensuring full compliance with site policies and procedures.

Comply with site security instructions, Good Laboratory practice (GLP), standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), where applicable & relevant.

Adapt to any changes and carry out any changes that may occur within the department.
