As a Health and Safety Officer you’ll be joining a company who pride themselves on adhering to and implementing the highest possible H&S standards.
You will be responsible for advising on overall compliance in matters of H&S in accordance with company policy and relevant statutory provisions. Furthermore, you will oversee all H&S activities and maintain standards of H&S in the work environment.
You’ll be carrying out regular audits, risk assessments and document the findings and then implement necessary corrective actions. You will also need to carry out accident investigations and ensure remedial actions are put in place.
There are some fundamental requirements for this position, which go without saying, but we’ll mention them. You’ll need to have a relevant Health and Safety qualification and worked in a similar construction, motorway or highway environment.
You’ll be familiar with regulatory compliance procedures, publications and an ability to interpret legislation. Additionally, there will be a proven ability on your part to carry out effective investigations, audits, inspections and compile reports and recommendations as appropriate.
Over and above this you will have the natural capability to communicate with people at all levels of the business.
The salary is on at £35,000 to £42,000 with other perks to go along with this including a company vehicle.
