The Role
Our manufacturing function plays a vital role in our business. Working closely with colleagues in and beyond manufacturing to ensure that plant performance is optimised and that production targets are achieved. This involves operating at pace, with precision and to accurate technical guidelines.
The roles are varied - you will be involved with all elements associated with manufacturing including; health & safety, quality, customer focus and production efficiency.
The Apprenticeship
As a Manufacturing Apprentice you will work alongside our skilled operators to learn key aspects of our manufacturing operations in your placement area. On the job training will be supplemented by academic study at college 1 day a week over the 2 year period & that will assist the progression of your knowledge in the manufacturing role.
Working hours on site will vary by area but the majority of areas will work 7am – 3pm throughout your apprenticeship years. This apprenticeship will be over a 2 year period.
The Candidate
You’ll need to have 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including English Language, Maths and Science) at Grades A* - C or level 4 – 9 or equivalents.
You will have a keen interest in the following:
- Improving the environmental and energy performance of industrial processes
- Learning production processes that are vital to the site
- Complex data analysis and problem-solving
- Working with instrumentation – on-site measurement of process parameters (e.g. temperature, flow, pressure).
- You will need to have a genuine interest in Manufacturing and show a passion for this type of work.
