The Role
A Manufacturing Apprenticeship with Tata Steel offers exciting training in varied environments within Packaging Steel whether that the Processing Lines, Rolling Mills or Finishing Lines. You will work within a team using the appropriate processes, technical and engineering skills to safely manufacture products whilst maintaining the highest quality and meeting our customers’ needs.
With hard work and dedication, successful candidates will become fully functioning Team Members over the two-year period and be able to perform a range of Manufacturing duties. Beyond this milestone, candidates with the aspiration and potential can continue their development and become our Senior Operators or Team Leaders of the future.
The Apprenticeship
Our apprentice programmes will commence 4th September 2023
Year 1 – As a Paid Tata Apprentice you will:
- Begin your Level 3 NVQ in Metal Processing & Allied Operations;
- Essential skills x 5 (Application of Number, Communication, IT, Working with Others & Improve own learning)
- Undertake further training courses & projects.
Year 2 – During your second year you will:
- Complete your Level 3 NVQ in Metal Processing & Allied Operations;
- Undertake further training courses & projects to become competent in your role.
The Candidate
To be considered for our Manufacturing Management Apprenticeship Programme you will need 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including English Language, Maths and Science) at Grades A* - C or level 4 – 9.
In addition you will:
- ideally have experience within a Manufacturing or other work environment;
- excellent written and oral communication skills;
- effective team working skills with a flexible and adaptable approach;
- In order to be considered for this position, you must be able to provide during the selection process evidence of the qualifications specified.
