Monday - 6am - 6pm OR 6pm - 6am
Tuesday - 6am - 6pm OR 6pm - 6am
Wednesday - 6am - 6pm OR 6pm - 6am
Thursday - 6am - 6pm OR 6pm - 6am
Do you have experience in quality control? We have recently expanded our growing business as we have doubled our production capabilities; with further growth in the future, we are looking to recruit an experienced quality controller to join our existing team.
Job Summary:
A Quality Control Operative at SIL is responsible for working as part of a small team in the sector of production and will be overall responsible for all quality aspects of our products we produce.
The Job:
- Ensure that quality standards are maintained throughout all stages of production
- Reporting directly to Workshop Supervisor with any concerns with quality issues
- Full training will be provided but experience in this field is essential to know you have a keen eye for detail
Requirements:
- Experience gained within a quality / inspection background
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication skills
- Management of staff beneficial
Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge of basic engineering/injection moulding principles
- Quality control qualifications
Salary: Total TBC dependent on experience
Contract Type: Permanent, 48 hours per week (Monday to Thursday) 1 hour break per day.

Responsibilities
- Inspect product ensuring it is of high quality
- Working on Shifts - nights and days (one or the other)
- Complete product quality check
- Ensuring goods are 100% ready to go out to clients & checking correct labelling etc has been done by team leaders
- Respecting company policy and behaviour in work areas.
- Ensuring PPE provided is utilised correctly and not mis-used.
- Work individually being responsible for quality, but as part as an overall team i.e. helping staff where necessary.
- Ensuring staff are packing products off the lines in the correct fashion i.e. correct quantity and packaging method.
- Ensure ANY FLASH (excess plastic) is trimmed off the products correctly by relative staff & pull up where needed
- Covering breaks where necessary and providing support to other areas of the company if required.
- Ensuring paperwork is filled in and up to standard.
- Ensuring there has been communication to the following shift coming on should there have been any QC related issues that need to be relayed.
Physical Demands
- Will be required to sit/stand for long periods.
- May engage in frequent bending, lifting, squatting, pushing, pulling in order to check pallets correctly.
Job requirements
- Ability to communicate via English language.
- Ability to work individually and within a team.
- Ability to pass in-house training methods to gain the skills needed to complete the job thoroughly with knowledge of the job they are doing.
Experience
- 1-2 years experience within a production environment is ideal and doing quality control aspects
- Ideally have experience within an Injection Moulding environment
- Full fork-lift licence is desirable but not necessary
SHIFTS - as above - there is opportunity for overtime.
