This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours. Our core business hours are Monday to Friday – 9am to 5pm but we have a flexible approach to start and finish times. Our hybrid working model is 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.

About the Role

As a Buyer at Hobbycraft you will have plenty of scope to use your imagination and creativity. You’ll be sourcing and managing existing ranges, as well as researching and developing new ranges that are aligned with our overall corporate strategy and supporting the development of the brand. You will be fully involved with setting retail prices and managing your suppliers, always searching for fresh opportunities for promotions and incentives. You will work cross functionally with particular focus on Marketing, Merchandising, Retail Ops and Supply Chain and will provide support to the Head of Buying on a day-to-day basis as well as coaching and managing your direct reports to ensure delivery on agreed KPI’s.

About You

Our ideal candidate would be an established Buyer, who is able to quickly settle into the role and make their mark.

  • Must have proven buying/commercial experience – preferably within the Retail sector.
  • Computer literate - experience using Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Forecasting and budget management experience
  • Stakeholder management with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Negotiation knowledge and skills
  • Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyse data.
  • Proactive and resourceful
  • Passionate about our product and about putting the customer first.
