Harbour Healthcare are recruiting for a Data Protection and Safeguarding Coordinator to join the business to manage and maintain its legal compliance across 20 Care Home’s. Harbour Healthcare is a family-run concern, although one with very considerable experience and expertise in the care industry.

Principal Role & Accountabilities:
- To support the Data Subject Access Request Specialist in providing an efficient service in relation to Information right requests.
- To send out acknowledgement responses to any current Data Subject Requests in a timely manner.
- To liaise directly with the relevant segment/dimension to collate the personal data in question and arrange for it to be uploaded
- Carry out administration processes, photocopying, dispatching, and hastening outstanding data subject access requests and files.
- To provide admin support in response to Data Subject Requests to ensure compliance with DP legislation.
- Liaise with the People, Quality and Compliance teams on data subject requests.
- To complete actions required ensure up to date maintenance of content in a Data Registry ensuring the storage, arrangement and indexing of the completed Data Subject Request work is retained in compliance with DP legislation.
- Assist the wider organisation to ensure strict compliance to DP legislation and overall Data Governance.
- Ensure that all processes and documentation related to DP SARs are robustly maintained, protecting integrity and quality of data and version control.
- All tasks and interactions related to delivering the service are completed according to the principles & practice detailed within the Information Security Policy and any other additional security requirements.
- To support in the day-to-day operational safeguarding and welfare provision for Harbour Healthcare.
- To effectively advise, coach and influence safeguarding and welfare referrals at all levels
- To ensure all staff know how to raise safeguarding concerns and understand the symptoms of abuse & neglect
- To safeguard, support and implement effective individual action.
- To represent Harbour Healthcare and participate in appropriate external networking meetings and training sessions including strategy discussions and multi-agency meetings
- To contribute to the continuous development of Harbour Healthcare systems to improve their effectiveness and efficiency to ensure effective safeguarding
- To build and develop contact and working relationships with multi-agency teams across the Borough and wider networks.
The Person:
- General awareness of main themes in privacy and data protection
- Experience of writing clear communications in plain English whether in letter or e-mail format
- Experience of dealing with multiple requests and coordination of these across the business
- Exceptional time-management, administrative and organisational skills
- Keen reader with good research skills
- Ability to work to agreed deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team
- Proficient with IT skills especially in MS Excel (for the purpose of maintaining registers and reporting) Outlook, Word, Excel etc.) as well as PDF Converter
- Previous Healthcare sector experience and an understanding of how the Care Sector operates.
- Broad knowledge of the regulatory environment of CQC (Care Quality Commission)
