Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the award winning UK Safety Team for a Safety Manager. This is a full-time, field-based role which involves the provision of specialist support to our locations across the UK. Reporting to the UK Safety Director, you will be responsible for supporting the operations teams to ensure sites adhere to legislative and company health and safety, food safety and food information requirements.
We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrated excellent safety leadership within the food service / food retail sectors. The ideal candidate will be based in the midlands, but we can be flexible.

A day in the life of a Safety Manager:
- As a safety subject matter expert, provide sound technical advice with regard to all safety matters
- Supporting the management and operations team and sites to ensure compliance with both legal requirements and company safety standards
- Maintenance of safety policies, procedures and SOPS to ensure the safety management system is up-to-date in line with legislative, industry and other developments
- Supporting implementation of safety policies and procedures
- Undertaking site support visits as requested by the Safety Team or Operations
- Supporting safety education and training programmes in conjunction with the learning & development team
- Communicating with employees, contractors, customers, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders on safety-related matters
- Work alongside our Safety Partner supporting investigation of incidents, preparation of incident investigation reports and supporting implementation of appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence and drive continuous improvement
- Supporting other general health and safety programmes and championing new initiatives to drive safety improvements
- Working on projects as assigned by the Safety Director UK
- This is a UK wide role, based from home with some requirement for overnight stays which could be at short notice
You'll be set up for success if you have/are:
- Relevant industry experience within food service/ contract catering/ hospitality- essential
- Knowledge and understanding of catering / hospitality and the required food safety controls and relevant legislation
- Direct experience working within food safety
- A degree in food safety / food science / environmental health or closely related discipline is highly desirable
- People centric with the ability to work as part of a team
- A full driving licence is a requirement for this position
