Come and be involved in the Merlin magic by joining us as a Retail Team Leader based in our LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Manchester.

This role is fixed term role until November 2023, working full time hours, 5 days out of 7. Given the 7-day nature of the visitor attraction business, there will be regular weekend and bank holiday working on a roster basis, so you’ll need to be flexible with regards to working days and hours.

It’s all FUN FUN FUN!

Within this role you will ensure all our guests receive a supercharged retail experience during their visit, with particular attention towards customer service, upselling and merchandising. You will help to build a LEGOtastic experience within the retail shop by supporting the Commercial Manager and encouraging the Retail Hosts to be at their best every day - BOOM!

On a typical day (if you can call it that!) You could find yourself assisting with stock takes, supervising stock levels and ensuring the site is always maintained to the highest possible standards. You’ll also safeguard cash handling procedures and supervise sales, feeding back appropriately to the team to ensure they know their targets and strive to exceed them.

Providing the most efficient service possible and an energetic experience to all guests entering the shop, you will work together as a team, communicating and encouraging one another, crafting a fun and professional environment whilst showing lots of LEGO love!

You will also be required to Duty Manage the attraction on a rota basis. You will be overseeing the day to day operation including team allocation and guest experience as well as having key holder responsibilities.

We believe you’ll be Super-mega-awesome if you,

  • Have gained your experience in any well-respected brand on the high street or even better, at a visitor attraction
  • Are a fun individual that loves working as part of a team and have experience of working in Retail, ideally to Team Leader level
  • Love being immersed in the action and relish the thought of working for the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre and more importantly be truly passionate about the brand
  • Can take responsibility, step up, and take the lead when the pressure’s on, thinking on your feet, personally handling operational problems, and turning complaints into positive experiences
