Job Description
We are looking to recruit a recent Graduate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering to join us on the Hinkley Point C project as part of the MEH Alliance.
Working on the Hinkley Point C project, you will develop wide-ranging skills, knowledge and valuable experience in the Nuclear Construction industry.
As part of your learning, you will be involved in:
- Execution Design Delivery and compliance with discipline workflows including driving KO meetings, Design Progress Reviews, Handover Readiness Reviews etc.
- Ensuring Execution Design delivery to schedule including component qualification activities where applicable.
- Managing close out of design configuration issues (Open Points, Design Changes etc).
- Manage delivery of batches to ensure efficient constructability close and Execution Design surveillance.
- PWRT Liaison to ensure timely delivery of their ‘Review & Acceptance’ and ‘Assemble & Issue’ procedural responsibilities.
- Support HO3 end of manufacture design management gate and design handover to installation and JDO including design inputs to the Erection Work Pack.
- Assess and, where applicable, ensure implementation of Referential and Design Changes generated through the Configuration Management Board process.
- Progress reporting to the Engineering Manager.
- Approved Execution Design deliverables at HO2 to enable progress into manufacture.
Requirements:
- A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- A positive ‘can do’ mentality, self-motivated, setting the right behaviours.
- An ability to think laterally and flexibly to deliver solutions and a ‘process driven’ focus to delivery.
- Good communication skills
- A desire to become a Chartered/Incorporated Engineer
- Working knowledge of french language would be an advantage.

NG Bailey on the Hinkley Point C Project
We are working across both Hinkley Point C units to deliver the infrastructure that will power the station and its operations, creating 1,000 jobs including many specialist engineers. Works include the design and installation of circa 76,000 cables totalling over 3,000km in length; over 180km of cable containment support systems; fire and environmental sealing; design and installation of earthing systems, and specialist packages associated with data acquisition and plant control.
