ABOUT US

Transforming Lives Through Excellent Education

London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have
always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so
unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse
community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving
some of London's most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is
underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the
opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.

Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our
academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with
access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit
personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture,
public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around
the world.

ABOUT THE POST

We are looking to recruit to 2 fixed term roles: one 0.8 FTE and one 0.5
FTE Academic Liaison Librarian to join our busy Library Services &
Special Collections team, which plays a major role in learning, teaching
and research in the University, supporting both students and staff.

Reporting to the our Liaison, Research and Digital Manager and a member
of the Academic Liaison Team, you may be based at either or both of our
Campuses (at Holloway and Aldgate).

The post-holders will be qualified librarians with experience of
providing teaching, learning and research support to students and staff
in allocated subject areas. The role provides specialist support to
staff and students, with a focus on digital and information skills
training, promoting library resources, 1-to-1 student sessions and
enquiry support. There will also be a need to occasionally supervise
Library space in the absence of Library Operational Team members.

You will be confident and proactive, and have excellent organisation,
communication, and people skills. Recently (or soon to be) qualified
librarians with relevant work experience, and who can demonstrate an
enthusiasm for supporting academics and students in using library
resources in their teaching and studies, are encouraged to apply.

The roles are both initially fixed-term for nine months, but with the
possibility of this been extended after that.
