Job Responsibilities
· Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate and cost-effective way.
· Promote and implement new and improved business systems and processes.
· Oversee team’s performance and provide leadership to all business functions in divisions.
· Create and effectively manage budget and forecast numbers for each project in an effective way.
· Create & implement cultural initiatives to ensure dynamic engagement from team according to DFSI M25 values
· Ensure a safety culture is maintained and the entire organization is focused on the company’s
· critical success factors.
· Responsible for delivery of all KPI’s across the Region
· Conducts Period Business reviews with all direct reports and ensures that success routines
· are followed by Area Managers and Store Managers.
· Conducts regular Coaching visits to the restaurants that resonate the standard to Area
· Managers and Store Managers to ensure brand standards, customer satisfaction, people development and profitability are adhered and excelled.
Customer Satisfaction
- Ensures Customer focused mindset is embedded in each restaurant with the Area Managers
and Store Manager setting the example, and ensuring that standards of product quality,
hospitality and customer satisfaction are met.
- Monitors and implements programmes to improve product quality, speed of service and
cleanliness.
- Coaches and models team involvement in problem solving to improve customer satisfaction.
- Identifies and implements process improvements that drive customer satisfaction and
profitability in conjunction with the Operations Director.
People
- Lead and upskill the Area Managers and Store Managers.
- Coaches and supports Area Managers in recruiting, selecting, and training employees to
ensure restaurant’s staffing needs are attained in a timely/cost-efficient manner.
- Provides coaching on training needs and effectiveness, monitors management training
processes to ensure quality training follow up and reinforcement.
- Ensures quality performance appraisal, Individual Development Planning (IDP) and People
Plan Review (PPR) process, emphasising implementation of value-added developmental
activities.
- Practices effective employee relations and effectively resolves employee concerns.
- Executes an agreed succession plan in conjunction with HR Manager within the Area to fill
Store Manager/ Area Manager positions.
- Identifies and implements motivational programmes / incentives for their Team.
Profitability and Sales
- Leads and embeds the sales mindset in the Region
- Coaches and assists Area Managers in identifying sales growth opportunities, implementing
approved marketing and merchandising programmes and controlling product, labour and
other controllable expenses in conjunction with the Operations Director.
- Ensures compliance with all health and safety laws, HR policies by conducting the
appropriate meetings ensuring Area Managers to oversee the posting of required notices,
performing quarterly restaurant audits and taking appropriate actions.
- Ensures achievement of profit and sales targets in assigned Areas.
- Approves operating expenditures within guidelines for other controllable’s and inventory.
- Ensures that required audits and controls are in place.
Previous Experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in a previous Operational Manager role
- Strong track record in Operations Management in Food Retail is essential
- Experience of structured Operations processes in food.
- Strong experience of leadership & coaching skills in a similar role/environment and the ability
to motivate and develop teams.
- Previous experience of managing food hygiene and brand standards including audits/external
bodies.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified or have a similar qualification.
- Leadership and managing related course would be advantageous
