Astrea Academy Sheffield Primary has an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join their team on a fixed term basis. We are looking for someone who is caring and patient and who is committed to their own development, and to the view that children deserve a fantastic school experience.
The Role
Astrea Academy Sheffield opened in 2018 and has an opportunity for a Primary Phase Teaching Assistant to help develop and shape the ethos and culture of a growing school. As a Teaching Assistant you will work under the direct instruction of the SENDCo and teaching staff to support access to learning for children and to assist the teacher in the management of children and the classroom. You will be a confident individual with experience working within a similar role and should have the necessary experience or qualification within a certain relevant trade. You will have strong ICT and organisation skills with great written and verbal communication skills.
Key Accountabilities
- Supervision of pupils on school premises
- Maintenance of good order, welfare and discipline
- Encouraging positive situations with children.
Our Ideal Candidate will:
- Have experience of working with children.
- Have experience of working with children of different ages (3 to 11 desirable)
- Have up to date knowledge of good practice in Primary Education
- Have an understanding of and commitment to Equal Opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.
Astrea Academy Sheffield is a through school situated in Sheffield, which opened in 2018. Each year, the school grows as we fill our year groups. In the primary phase we currently have pupils from nursery to year 3. The school represents a unique opportunity for a new members of staff to help us shape a growing school.
