We are looking to recruit a client services assistant ('CSA') in our new US private client tax team. When working in client facing teams, we need to ensure that onboarding compliance for new and existing clients is undertaken efficiently and accurately, and that ongoing tax return and deadline requirements are met. Recruiting a CSA will help us achieve that and is a fundamental role within the organisation as well as to assist in developing a new team and growth targets.
Roles and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for being the main point of contact within the team for onboarding, engagements, and filing returns and associated forms.
- Packaging tax returns and associated filings for clients; uploading to the client portal.
- E-filing extensions and tax returns throughout the year for each US tax deadline
- Tracking clients' deadline requirements and assist the team with prioritising client lists.
- Tracking status of tax returns throughout the tax season for both US and UK tax filings.
- Assist in setting up client codes within the system and creating files for each potential and engaged client.
- Regularly manage potential new clients.
- Develop a strong understanding of the firm's onboarding processes, from initial contact, through to full engagement, as well as the client risk assessment process and the KYC requirements.
- Assist in requesting and collating relevant documentation from clients to fulfil the requirements of each stage through engagements.
- Draft KYC forms, risk forms, engagement letters and submit through Docusign, based on information provided by the team.
What we want from you
- Currently in a similar role in an accountancy/tax firm.
- Experience in working with US and UK tax deadlines, including filing US extensions and US and UK tax returns.
- Effective time management and the ability to manage multiple onboarding tasks within required timeframes.
- Good IT capabilities
- Pro-active and enthusiastic, as well as having effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of engagement processes and risk requirements (including KYC) for onboarding prospective clients.
