Opportunities exist for you in the following functional areas:
  • Health, Safety & Environment -
    • Support the Health, Safety & Environment Manager and Biosafety HSE Adviser in promoting best practices in operational safety across our organisation, including delivery of in-house training, Risk assessment (ergonomic, chemical etc) inspection and environmental monitoring, to ensure that there is a safe working environment.
  • Analytical Development -
    • To assist the team in aligning Quality Control activities with the wider sites on Analytical Method transfers, development or optimisation and implementation. This will help to generate data to help collaboration between Sanofi sites in a cost effective manner
  • Ex Vivo Translational Biology –
    • For someone interested in inflammation/immunology to support a team who develops in vitro assays to assess the function of therapeutic antibodies. The role will develop in vitro intestinal co-culture systems using cell line with the aim of simulating tissue inflammation in the gut and progressing to the use of primary human immune cells.
  • Antibody Discovery Group x2–
    • The ADG team is responsible for the high throughput single cell sequencing and small scale expression workflows, as well as the IntelliSelect® Screening Technology, our proprietary in silico analysis tool for antibody repertoire analysis and selection of antibodies with the most desirable drug-like properties. You will be working as part of a team on a project aimed at the characterisation of virus-like-particles (VLPs).
    • The second opportunity is a project is to create a bioinformatic tool that will benefit the antibody discovery pipeline by allowing the comparison of immune responses in mice to immunisation with a target antigen. Using historical immunisation data that will allow you to apply statistical and bioinformatic techniques to develop an in-silico tool that will assist in the selection of mice to be included in the antibody discovery pipeline. There will also be opportunity to learn techniques such as ELISA, flow cytometry, single cell FACS and NGS.
  • Bispecific Discovery –
    • Contribute to the design and implementation of experiments directed at investigating and standardizing the methods for antibody internalization of cell surface targets to characterise and define an antibody’s functional potential as an anticancer agent. the project is key for use of our antibodies going forward and you will receive great support from all members of the Bispecific Discovery team.
  • Precision Immunology (Translational Biology) –
    • The Precision Immunology team is focused on accelerating the development of novel biologic drugs to tackle Inflammatory diseases by leveraging human Omics datasets and detailed biology led analysis delivering the scientific basis for the identification and characterization of tomorrow’s therapies.
  • Infectious Diseases –
    • The Infectious Diseases & Vaccine (IDV) team is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and collaborates with leading academic groups worldwide on a wide variety of infectious disease projects including malaria, RSV, influenza, COVID-19 and antimicrobial-resistant bacteria. This project will involve the use of various in vitro technologies including bacterial culture, ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), spectrophotometric enzyme assays, and antibiotic susceptibility assays. This position would suit students with an interest in microbiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry.
About you
  • Education: You should be studying for a degree, preferably in Life Sciences or in a discipline that is relevant to the programmes on offer.
  • Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, good organisation with attention to details to manage a number of priorities
