“'Every day is different being a Quality Apprentice. I have achieved recognised qualifications while gaining invaluable on-the-job experience with the full support and encouragement of everyone here at LifeScan. This is a great opportunity that you should apply for.''
Calum – 4th year Engineering Apprentice
“I'm currently in the final year of my Engineering Apprenticeship. It has been a fantastic experience through the programme so far. It's providing me with the knowledge and skills to start my career in engineering. On the apprenticeship programme, I can study the theory as well as gain experience with the equipment and machines we have on site. This is a great way to develop as I can apply the theory and knowledge learned in the classroom to practical situations in Lifescan. The whole engineering team are always keen to help the apprentices and share knowledge. I would highly recommend the Lifescan apprenticeship to anyone that would like a great start to an engineering career.”
The apprenticeships we're offering
Quality Engineering
A career in quality is making the organisation and its products and processes better. Quality professionals work in a variety of quality functions and this is why the apprentice programme provides invaluable experience as apprentices rotate across quality business functions.
The quality team ensures compliance to Medical Device Regulations and drives improvement throughout the business from design & development, manufacture, complaint handling, supplier management, laboratory testing, statistics/data analytics and product distribution.
Quality engineering is a discipline of engineering. It is to ensure the practice and principles of product and service quality assurance and controls, to ensure complete traceability of product through manufacturing and in the field.
A quality engineer (QE)oversees an organisation's manufacturing and engineering processes by governing the proper use of tools, materials and procedures. We ensure adherence to worldwide medical device manufacturing regulations and standards.
The Quality Engineering apprenticeship programme is a 4-year Modern Apprenticeship.
We are specifically looking for Quality Engineering Apprentices to specialise in Software Quality Engineering and Data Analytics. You'll find more information about these apprenticeships below.
