This position is to join our innovative (PSS) programme as an employee of Eurofins. The programme places full-time analysts, technicians, scientists and technical support personnel managed by Eurofins directly at the client facility to provide long term staffing needs while maintaining the same services, expertise and cGMP compliance available at the Eurofins facility. Job Description
This role is permanent, full time working a 36,5 hour working week, Monday - Friday working flexibly between 07:00 - 19:00
The purpose of this job is to perform analysis of pharmaceutical drug products for both small and large peptide and Oligonucleotide materials to produce accurate results within an acceptable timeframe to build scientific understanding of those products.

To perform routine and non-routine analysis using traditional and modern analytical techniques, as required by the Lead Scientist or customer representative.

To review analytical data for GMP compliance.

Development and validation of analytical procedures used for Drug Products
-
To prepare and approve results for tests in which they have received the appropriate training and are deemed competent.

To train as required, other Eurofins or client employees in analytical techniques and electronic system in which the Scientist is competent.

Mentorship of junior members of the team would be desirable.

To initiate and follow-up OOS results and action limits as per customer procedures.

To identify any opportunities for improvement of quality and service and work with the team to implement continuous improvement.

To document data as dictated by current client policies and procedures.

To ensure that all documentation is carried out on time, is accurate and legible and conforms to the relevant quality standards.

To update any relevant documentation when requested by Lead Scientist or client representative.

To participate in the preparation of reports.

Attend regular client/Eurofins team meetings. To share learning and understanding to the wider Analytical community.

Ensure that the customer gets the best possible service by continually reviewing best practice in relation to both commercial and quality issues and ensuring 100% ethical work standards and GMP compliance.

To become fully familiar with and keep up to date with any technological or method revisions in their area, ensuring their training is complete and adjusting their work as required with approval from the Lead Scientist.

To collect and measure productivity through agreed metrics such as number of tests performed, cycle times, lab/product issues, number of hours worked per project, etc.

To keep the laboratory area clean and tidy in both ‘seen’ and ‘unseen’ areas.

To ensure uniformity, reproducibility and reliability in all work practices.
Qualifications

A degree in Chemistry or a related discipline is required.

Proven relevant experience of pharmaceutical analysis in a development laboratory, or equivalent, is desired.

Experienced and competent with traditional analytical techniques as well as modern instrumental equipment (HPLC, Karl Fischer, Dissolution, Mass Spectroscopy, and Spectroscopy techniques like FTIR and NMR). Able to interpret raw data and draw conclusions regarding troubleshooting of instruments and methods.

Capabilities in developing and validating analytical methods is required.

Thorough understanding of chromatographic techniques with some trouble shooting capabilities.

Candidates with subject matter expertise in various analytical techniques would be desirable.

Thorough understanding of requirements for working in a GMP environment.

Ability to quickly learn new processes. Works proactively to offer suggestions for new ways to improve existing processes.

Ability to work on own initiative and be capable of developing solutions to problems as part of a team.

Good communication skills both internally and externally. Must be able to communicate documents or concepts to co-workers or clients independently.

Thorough understanding of requirements for working in a GMP environment.

Ability to work using fully electronic media, including MS Office.

Ability to form strong working relationships with colleagues.
