Job Description

Cleddau Reach VC Primary School is a forward-thinking and successful school, primarily serving the communities of Llangwm, Burton and Rosemarket. The school is situated within the village of Llangwm. The school site is a modern facility which provides a well-resourced environment for learning. It is a happy, thriving community with delightful pupils and a dedicated and skilled team of staff. We are a UNCRC Rights' Respecting School and pupil voice is a strong feature of the school, with pupil bodies such as our School Council and Criw Cymraeg meeting regularly. The school also works in close partnership with the Haverfordwest Cluster of schools as well as Partneriaeth.

Our school vision is ‘Believe, Achieve, Inspire’ which represents the learning journey each of our pupils undertakes.

The governing body is seeking to appoint a teacher to work full-time in our Reception class, with the possibility of a TLR3 payment to lead our Phase 1 team (Nursery & Reception) and sit on the Senior Leadership Team. This will be dependent on expertise and experience. Candidates should indicate in their application if they are intending to put themselves forward for the additional TLR role.

We would welcome secondment applications from practitioners currently working within a Pembrokeshire school; permission to apply would need to be granted by their Head Teacher in advance. We would also welcome applications from external candidates.

Visits to the school for a tour and to meet with the Head Teacher are also welcomed and can be arranged by contacting us on 01437 899419 or emailing admincleddaureach@pembrokeshire.gov.uk.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be passionate, lead by example and have high expectations of pupils
  • Show a dedication to promoting equity and an inclusive ethos to secure the highest possible standards for all pupils
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and energy
  • Display a passion for children's learning
  • Enjoy the challenges and successes that school life brings
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner who engages with each child

We can offer you:

  • Delightful children who are visible learners
  • Supportive governors, parents, and strong links to the community
  • A fabulous working environment with first class facilities and resources
  • A strong, hardworking team of staff to work along side
  • A leadership team with a commitment to your professional development

This is a full time, maternity cover fixed term post until Easter 2024 or sooner should the post holder return to work sooner.
