Job Description
Antifouler required to ensure full preparation and application of primer and antifouling paint for boat lines. This role will suit an experienced Painter or Skilled Labourer who can demonstrate good hand skills and an excellent eye for detail. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity for the successful candidate providing you can demonstrate the skills, attributes and attitude required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing the Hulls (degrease) remove dust and record details in documents.
- Applying primer, by roller or brush, using solvent and water based primer systems or prep to correct specifications as per work instruction.
- Apply two coats of anti-foul , by roller or brush, using solvent or water based paint systems to correct specifications
- Re-apply antifouling paint if repair is required including washing the hull.
- Measuring and monitoring key process parameters to make sure that the GWI is fully complied with using temperature and humidity control gauges.
- Inputting data into the anti-foul database such as humidity, temperature and other required information.
- Inputting data into the anti-foul log sheet and signing it off for completion.
- Liaising with Engineering Department on antifouling issues and technical inquiries.
Experience Required:
- Experience of preparation/painting preferred
- Experience of using sanders, wipes, rollers and paint brushes is required
- Experience with reading drawings or following written work instruction.
- Experience with heavy manual handling using correct procedures is required.
