Could you be a leader of the future?
We’re looking for talented graduates with big ambitions to become future leaders at ABP, the UK’s biggest port operator. With a starting salary of £28,000 and a rotational scheme covering a number of different placements, our two-year Graduate Training Scheme gives you a 360-degree view of our organisation, providing you with the skills and experience you need to launch a successful Port Management career.
Join a business with big ambitions
We contribute a massive £7.5 billion to the UK economy, handle 85 million tonnes of cargo every year, and manage 21 ports across the country. But we’re not stopping there, so if you’re looking for a career that keeps moving forward, there’s no better time to join ABP.
Prepare to be challenged
You’ll be given real responsibility early on, working closely with Port Managers and other senior leaders on big projects. The scheme is designed to challenge, as well as give you vital experience in Operations, Commercial, Port Management, Compliance, Strategy and Project Management. You’ll be based in the East Anglia region, with the opportunity to spend at least four months working at out of one of our other UK ports.
Who we need
We’re looking for graduates with a 2:1 or above, with the potential to become a future leader in Port Management. You’ll also need a positive attitude, great team working and communication skills, and the drive to make a real difference. Although you’ll primarily be based in Ipswich, you should also be willing to travel or relocate around the UK to our other locations. After submitting your CV, successful applicants will be invited to complete online competency tests, followed by a video interview and then, finally, an assessment centre.
We look after our people
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll get an annual bonus, access to our pension scheme, life assurance, private healthcare, employee discounts and the opportunity to purchase additional holiday. You’ll also receive ongoing support from your mentor and senior sponsor, regular reviews, and opportunities to develop your skills.
