My name is Michael, I am a young disabled person looking for a dependable and friendly Support Assistant to join my team.
The job is to assist me in all aspects of my life including mobility, personal care, social life, cooking, shopping, work, transport and organising my time.
I have impairments which impact my balance, vision and cognition.
I have a small dog walking business and I have an assistance dog called Jack. I live in a busy family home.
In my spare time I enjoy gaming, looking after my dog and going to the gym.
The role requires somebody who is reliable, considerate and adaptable. The ideal candidate will be friendly, have a good sense of humour and enjoy trying new activities; somebody who can make me laugh is a bonus!
In terms of attitude, it is important that my Support Assistants work with me in an equal partnership without being patronising, bossy or overbearing; I need support but I do not want to be ‘looked after’.
Previous experience is not required, as training will be provided. People with previous experience should approach this role with open minds and be ready to listen and learn.
My Support Assistants must be physically able to support me. They must also hold a full drivers licence.
In terms of hours, I am looking for somebody who can work up 16.5 hours per week on a stable weekly rota. The hours are negotiable at interview, but please note that this is a PART TIME role and I cannot offer full-time work.
Part-time hours: 16.5 per week
Shifts on offer are - Saturday 9.00am - 4.30pm and Sunday 10.00am - Sunday 7.00pm
