Job Description

Posts are fixed term/secondment until October 2024 due to meet the needs of the service.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Data Analyst to join our outstanding team within Information Services. This post will play a key role in maximizing the potential of the data we collect, in order to improve patient care and services across Wales.

The post holder will cover a range of areas, including providing analytical, modelling and data processing support, as well as responding to information requests to provide data, run reports and develop dashboards through the application of analytical and data handling skills. There will also opportunities to support our data warehousing and acquisition team. Experience and a working knowledge of NHS datasets, and tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Python would be an advantage, though not essential. Full training is provided.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a strong team and can demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high-quality service. Depending on experience we may offer the post as a Band 4 Assistant Information Officer. If appointed as an Assistant Information Officer, progression to the next pay band is dependent on meeting an agreed set of competency criteria managed through Personal Development Review (PDR). Once those criteria are met you will automatically progress to Band 5 Information Analyst.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
