What Will I Do on the Finance Graduate Programme?
Man Group's Finance Graduate Programme provides a unique opportunity to gain challenging and interesting experience within a performance-driven, global investment management business by rotating through four 6-month placements within Finance over a two-year period.
As one of our trainees, you will gain a thorough understanding of a range of financial disciplines, such as Accounting, Controlling, and Tax, and be given exposure to different teams and business areas. Having completed the programme, you will be well-placed to develop a long-term career in Finance at Man Group with an expectation that you would be capable of progressing into a leadership role. Both professional studies (e.g., ACA, ACCA) and on-the-job training will be provided to enable you to contribute to the business. You will also have direct access to Man Group's leadership team as a senior leader from Finance will be provided to each trainee to act as their mentor.
What Are Man Group Looking For?
We are keen to hire candidates who have obtained/are expecting a 1st class or upper second-class numeracy-based degree or a degree which contains at least one numerate module (or equivalent) from university and who can demonstrate a genuine interest in a career within finance. In addition, you must be able to show you have initiative, are analytical with an eye for detail, keen to learn and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will commence in their role by September 2023 and will be paid a salary at a competitive market rate.

Develop an in-depth understanding of the business, its environment, and products

Specific Responsibilities

Analyse and integrate financial data

Preparation of external reporting documents and schedules (statutory financial statements, regulatory returns for example)

Preparation of internal management information (budget v actuals, FUM and margins for example)

Monitor, analyse and review financial data

Maintenance of finance reference data including general ledger bookkeeping

Participation in corporate and fund tax compliance and advisory services

Support the annual budget process

Provide support and challenge to the wider business

Participation in ad-hoc projects as they arise

Interaction with internal and external auditors as required
Key Skills & Experience
Education: Educated to degree level

IT Skills: Must be computer literate with MS office competency and can learn new systems
