Summary of the Production Support Operator role
As the Production Support Operator you will support the manufacture of pharmaceutical intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in a safe, quality, compliant and cost-effective manner in line with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the management of raw materials and intermediates i.e., physical plant inventory checks, the delivery of processing locations and removal after use.
- Assisting the Process Operator in non-critical production equipment activities in accordance with safety, operational and quality procedures.
- Assisting the Process Operator in monitoring non-critical process activities, recording of data as specified in the Process Record Sheet (PRS) i.e. process temperatures, pressures and flow/addition rates readings.
- Assisting in the preparation of final off-loading operations i.e. drum preparation, final drum security and labelling.
- Assisting in plant housekeeping activities and the maintenance of appropriate standards.
- Carrying out HSE and quality checks and recording of data.
- Carrying out second person standby activities.
- Complying with all HSE requirements including safety policies and procedures.
- Complying with all COMAH Process Safety Management System and Major Accident Preventation Policy (MAPP) where relevant to your area of responsibility.

Requirements for the role
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
- NVQ in Process Operations would be highly advantageous.
- Capable of understanding and improving new skills with a positive response to training.
- Must have a good awareness of health and safety standards in the workplace.
- Must be a team player.
