The business has experienced positive growth year on year and is looking to expand its operations team with a trainee/junior CAD Technician. Being part of an already trained existing team who are there to support you as you gain knowledge and confidence to be an independent competent technician.

Our opportunity:
At Mandate Systems we have experience of training unskilled employees into skilled roles utilising in-house experienced employees who are willing to share decades of first hand experience.
Due to recent success now is time to start planning additional resources into the team to provide extra capacity and still have time to learn. Dealing with large blue chip organisations and other industry providers, the role will see you work with field engineers to create technical schematics of pressure systems using AutoCAD.
We too are also excited about what tech advances a fresh pair of eyes will bring to share new ways of working as they will have time to explore.
The creation of this new role is a vital step forward in the growth and continued success of our business.
Duties include (but not limited to):
- Receive scanned hand drawn Pressure Systems Diagrams from our team of Engineer Surveyors and check for accuracy.
- Convert the drawing to a CAD output in line with Mandate Systems standard procedures using proprietary AutoCAD software.
- Attach the drawing to the Written Scheme of Examination prior to delivery to the client.
- Attend on site visits where required to hand draw the site and then draft into CAD back at the office
- Provide other engineering support by learning to undertake small autoclave examinations and quality assure check written schemes - when time allows
- Support the wider engineering team with ad hoc engineering and office duties
Full training will be provided internally.
The skills you need:
- Ability to work unsupervised and proactively, with attention to detail
- Computer literate (Microsoft & Google package)
- Good communication skills verbally and written
- Willingness to learn and to desire hone your craft
- Ability to prioritise and work to timescales
- Punctuality
- Be able to show initiative, be a self-starter
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable but not essential
- Experience working as part of a small team
- Knowledge and Understanding of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations
- Health & Safety knowledge/background
- Experience with AutoCAD software
Interviews:
Interview to be held face to face at our Liversedge offices. We are moving to new centrally located office in Brighouse as of the 1st April.

Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30
