Job Description
Lloyds Banking Group is the UK’s biggest Retail, Digital and Mobile bank with over 30 million customers and a big responsibility to help Britain Prosper. We’re in the middle of a £3bn investment into our People, Platforms and Data as part of our strategy to build the Bank of the Future and grow sustainably.
We're creating new opportunities and products to improve customer experiences for years to come. With our business evolving to more modern and flexible ways of working, we want driven, dynamic and innovative individuals who join us on this journey.
About the role:
We are building a Service team across the Retirement platform and have a great career opportunity for a customer oriented Service Engineer. Retirements are part of our Insurance, Pensions and Investments (IP&I) which provides critical services to the Group’s customers, supporting them with their pension needs.
Your main focus would be to help support the Retirement Platform to ensure smooth running of the applications. You will do that firstly through incident and problem management, risk management and contract management.
You’ll work with our Engineering change teams, Engineering Leads and Product Owners, communicating service levels and working with those people to help manage the impact of change on the applications. Longer term you will identify, understand and analyse trends to reduce the number of incidents and risks.
Within Retirements, we're passionate about continuing to improve customer experience, simplifying our business and make this a great place to work for our colleagues. With a focus on measuring what is really important to customers through end to end customer journeys, our operations are transforming in order to support us to meet the needs of our customers every day. What a superb time to join the team!
Through the ongoing development, modernisation and simplification of the shared platforms and services that sit at the heart of the Insurance, Pensions and Investments business, the Retirement Engineering Platform plays a key role in the realisation of this vision.
Are you passionate about making a difference? Then join us and be part of the journey.
Here’s how you’ll make a difference…
As a Service Engineer, you'll play a key role in our continued transformation journey by:
  • Working collaboratively, you will be responsible for servicing a wide range of new and exciting LBG applications. You will collaborate with technical teams, suppliers and partners to ensure we have the best solution in place to achieve our Service strategy.
  • Ensuring swift and controlled recovery of IT service impacting incidents, minimising impact to our customers and colleagues.
  • Providing clear and understandable updates to colleagues at different levels of the organisation, even under the pressure of incident recovery.
  • Driving effective root cause analysis on service related issues, identifying trends and ensuring that all insights are addressed quickly and effectively.
  • Promoting phenomenal thinking about service at each stage of the agile delivery lifecycle – promoting service principles, standards and processes within the engineering labs.
  • Playing a part in building a proactive risk management framework, identifying and calling out threats, and where possible, helping to drive remediating actions to help ensure continuous improvement.
  • Championing service capability to build serviceability into the design, architecture and operability of new solutions.
What we need from you…
  • Strong background in Service Engineering
  • Experience with Incident, Risk and Problem Management
  • Stakeholder Management Experience
  • Experience managing service on outsourced applications & products
  • The desire to reduce delivery risk through a service first approach.
What we offer you in return…
In return for your expertise, you'll enjoy our total dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development. We'll help you perform at your best today, so you can fulfil all your potential in the future.
The Group is committed to building both a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, and an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit. We're an equal opportunity employer and deeply value diversity within our organisation.
We'll ensure individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform crucial job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.
You'll also receive a package that includes
  • Discretionary bonus
  • Cash sum of 4% which you can exchange for a variety of benefits or simply take the cash
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Pension, where we'll give up to a max of 15%
  • Share plans
  • 30 days holiday plus bank holidays
Together we'll make it possible...
Are you interested in joining us? Apply today, we’d love to hear from you...
At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.
