Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced individual to join Lincolnshire County Council's Adult Care and Community Wellbeing (ACCW) directorate as a Senior Public Health Officer within the Information and Systems Team.


About The Role

This post is being offered as a permanent position. The team is based on the Lincoln campus but there is opportunity to work from home or flexibly, at Lancaster House and other satellite offices across the county.

In this role you will:

  • Have day to day oversight across the Information & Advice and Digital Transformation workstreams, working closely with Information and Systems Officers, to achieve timely and effective delivery and completion of projects
  • Report to the Information and Systems Manager, and deputise for them where required, to assist overall programme management, provide assurance and ensure service resilience
  • Support the Information and Systems Manager to maintain and update the ACCW Digital Roadmap
  • Provide support to Information and Systems Officers to escalate project queries and issues through the appropriate senior management channels
  • Represent the manager and team on corporate programmes such as the Digital and Customer Strategy Delivery Board
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Adult Care and Community Wellbeing, and Public Health, as well as with partners, stakeholders and teams outside of the directorates e.g. corporate teams, Children’s Services

About You

We are seeking to appoint someone with the right skills and experience who has empathy, drive, enthusiasm, flexibility, and commitment. The post requires you to be a resilient, confident, and capable person who can establish and build excellent working relationships with colleagues internally, and with other agencies, stakeholders, partners, and suppliers.

You will need a sound understanding of project management methods and IT, presentation, and evidence-based reporting skills. You will need these attributes to reliably inform decision making and influence service and strategy development.

You will have a passion for the difference that digital technologies and provision of quality and timely information can bring to the Adult Social Care and Public Health agendas.

About the Team

The Information and Systems Team oversees Adult Care and Community Wellbeing's information and advice offer, and digital transformation programme. Our activity includes:

  • The implementation of an online Financial Assessment tool (BetterCare)
  • Digital improvements for care providers (Digital Social Care Records, NHSMail, Facebook Portals, WHZAN, Spirit Digital)
  • Falls detection and prevention technology (Komp)
  • Home monitoring technology for carers (Howz)
  • The implementation of Virtual Wallet and e-Marketplace, for self-management of Direct Payments
  • The provision of information, advice and signposting via the Connect to Support Lincolnshire (CTSL) website, LCC's public facing corporate web platform, and the staff intranet
