Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Senior House Keeper to join our passionate and driven Integrated Solutions team based at our client’s site in Wembley.
OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Wembley Depot Manager, the Senior House Keeper is required to lead and co-ordinate the cleaning workforce delegating duties in accordance with agreed procedures as per the required specification. You will be required to read, understand and comply with all documents and instructions that are raised. You must be able to work efficiently unsupervised after initial training is carried out. Undertaking your roles and responsibilities to the best of your ability in an effective manner

SCOPE OF ROLE – KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure that trains are cleaned to the required specification, in accordance to Health and Safety regulations.
- You will be required to delegate cleaning duties in accordance with agreed procedures to achieve safety, quality,, environmental and performance requirements in respect of all aspects of train presentation standards.
- Report any accidents, incidents or near misses using defined procedures.
- Respond and act in line with agreed procedures and protocols to emergencies and incidents.
- Check consumables and equipment used are compliant with the approved list.
- Take responsibility to check the cleanliness and maintenance of equipment used to undertake tasks.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and post shift reports, Allocate shift responsibilities across the team.
- Check that equipment issued to the team on a shift basis is used correctly.
- Staff Rota & holiday management, arrange / plan for cover of roles for short notice on a reactive basis.
- Motivate, train & develop staff to produce a workforce capable of meeting its objectives.
- Conduct site inductions.
- Direct staff activities in line with the requirements of relevant safety procedures, confirming that any checks are accurately recorded and that non-compliances are dealt with accordingly in order to continuously improve and maintain standards.

- Undertake audits of the trains on a daily basis, recording staff performance and driving high a high standard of cleanliness and presentation. Use information to determine recommendations and corrective actions.
- Ensure Store Operative is carrying out their duties in line with their job description and to the standard required.
- Collating, inputting and reporting data in line with KPIs.
- Assist and support the train cleaning managers during absence.
- Daily recording of necessary data including but not limited to: o CET & tanking. o Access and hand back times. o Conversion data. o Bio-clean data. o Supplementary pay data. o Audit related data. o Fogging & ATP testing results. o Ad-hoc cleaning task data. o Staffing levels.
- Complete the Line of Roots daily.
- Complete CET & Tanking and Chlorination daily checklists.
- Working with the Storeroom Operative to monitor any good receivables and ensure correct stock is on hand as required.
- Placing consumable stock, uniform & PPE orders in line with the purchasing procedure.
- Time and attendance system data input and arbitrations.
- Responsible to lock out and tag out on the roads.
- Attend any required site meetings.
- Assist in performing investigations and ROC.
- Responsible for making decisions that will determine how quickly and effectively train cleaning issues will be dealt with, such as graffiti, defective toilets and biohazards.
- Liaise with the Depot Manager to determine the workload priorities, ensuring that the tasked work is completed.
- Be aware of and deliver to the standard of all KPI’s and SLA’s set out by the management team.
- Performing final checks of all coaches to ensure the presentation is to the standard.
- Ensure all Personal Protective Equipment is worn when required.
- Ensure a full understanding of resource requirements is maintained with respect to the train presentation location.
- Uphold all uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment to a high standard, reporting any non-compliances to the Depot Manager.
- Responsible for reporting train cleaning issues such as graffiti, defective toilets and biohazards which will affect customer service.
- Carry out reasonable management requests.

- Sound knowledge of cleaning techniques and working practices is essential along with the ability to influence people to produce a consistent standard of delivery.

- Strong supervisory and positive leadership skills
- Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and implementing new safety processes as required.
- Must be competent in the use of Word, Excel and IT software.
