We currently have an opening for a Research Associate in the Pluripotent Stem Cell (PSC) Biology team based at our Cambridge (UK) facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new and maintaining existing products and services to support the PSC research field.
This will be a lab based position and the candidate would be responsible for designing, performing and analysing experiments with input from a supervisor. The candidate will be expected to regularly present results and conclusions to their manager and collate data to present at data meetings. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: effective documentation of experiments, troubleshooting, performing literature reviews and shared lab maintenance duties. The work schedule for the Research Associate role will require availability to work weekends as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design, perform and analyse experiments with input from a supervisor
Document key experimental information, observations and form conclusions
Identify, report and troubleshoot abnormal or unexpected data
Present data and conclusions at team and departmental data meetings
Perform lab duties as requested (e.g. inventory of supplies and ordering, waste disposal, scheduled lab and equipment cleaning)
Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) initiatives and keep up to date with required training
Qualifications and Experience
BSc in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or other related areas
Experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology is highly desirable
Experience of data analysis and effective presentation of data
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) in a one-on-one and group setting
Detail oriented and proficient at time management
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is desirable
