This is a qualified position so we are keen to hear from qualified or nearly qualified PWPs)

Band 5 FT & PT 7.5 - 37.5 hours per week Permanent Location: Sandwell

PLEASE NOTE: It is essential that successful applicants possess a qualification in an IAPT Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Training Course.

Main duties of the job
Sandwell Healthy Minds is committed to improving health and well being, tackling inequalities and providing a high quality service within the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) guidelines. IAPT supports the NHS in implementing National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines for people suffering from depression and anxiety disorders across Sandwell.We are a dynamic and dedicated team that offers a range of psychological therapies and services to treat people and support their recovery within a stepped care model. The service hours are from 08:00 to 20:00 Monday to Friday. The team comprises of a Clinical Lead, Service Manager,
Team Leaders, High Intensity Psychological Therapists, Senior PWP’, PWP’s and Counsellors.

The service is committed to developing staff to
reach their full potential within an exceptionally supportive environment.

This role is a blended role of office working and home working.

We are offering an exciting opportunity to the right individual. We seek to recruit 1 Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP), to support the ongoing delivery and developments of our step two services.

The successful applicants will hold a Post-Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Interventions, with experience of working within primary care.

A good level of organisation and self- motivation are required skills.We can offer youMonthly Clinical Group Supervision
Weekly Case Management Supervision - essential to effective skills development and case management and ensuring ethical practice.

Person specification
Essential
Essential criteria
Possess a qualification in IAPT Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Training Course (Post Graduate Certificate or Level 3 undergraduate course).
Accredited or working towards accreditation with British Psychological Society or British Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.
Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem
Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
Demonstrates high standards in written communication
Able to write clear reports and letters.
Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training
Computer literate
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills
Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
Received training (either formal of through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice
To be willing to work on a rota basis, in line with needs of service
High level of enthusiasm and motivation.
Advanced communication skills
Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships
Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to adapt clinical practice to meet diverse needs of client group
Ability to be self-reflective, whilst working with service users, in own personal and professional development and in supervision
Desirable criteria
Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy.
Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree.
Experience of working in Primary Care Services
Ability to manage own caseload and time
Evidence of working in the local community
Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health
Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
Car driver and/or ability and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisation
Fluent in languages other than English

Salary: £27,055.00-£33,706.00 per year
