Vitacress Salads is vertically integrated from field to fork growing, washing and packing bagged watercress, baby leaf salads, spinach, rocket and salad bowls for Leading UK food retailers and the Vitacress brand – Steve’s Leaves. The business is going through an exciting period in its rich 70-year history. Driven by long term commercial agreements, new customer acquisition and industry leading investment in the site, the business is on track to grow significantly in the next 5 years. We are working exclusively with Vitacress in the search for a Night Hygiene Manager to join their team in Andover.
Whilst reporting into the Head of Technical, the Night Hygiene Manager will play a vital part in embedding the new hygiene practices for the site, due to state of the art business transformation, as well as coaching and leading the hygiene team around industry best practice.

The ideal experience will be:
- A background in hygiene management, ideally within food manufacturing
- Familiar with working within established hygiene standard operating procedures
- Been involved with site hygiene audits
- Worked cross functionally with a range of teams
- Have a good understanding of chemicals and their usage
Key responsibilities of the Night Hygiene Manager will include:
- Managing a team of hygiene operatives and supervisors
- Working closely with the Technical Team ensuring all KPI and customer service levels are maintained
- Maintaining and developing the relationship with the chemical supplier
- Auditing the hygiene standards throughout the site
- Ensuring hygiene and waste removal is completed to the required standard in all areas of site
- Auditing paperwork systems, ensuring they adhere to customer requirements and prepare for hygiene audits by customers
- Managing the health and safety aspects of the hygiene regime
They are offering the successful candidate circa £45,000 + bonus and benefits.
