This role sits within the Segment Marketing Team and is responsible for defining, driving and delivering strategic and high-impact marketing plans to underpin the PECG business objectives and client needs.
PECG is a crucial element of Investec's offering being one of the biggest revenue drivers across the bank. This role is pivotal in designing strategic marketing solutions in acquiring and retaining clients, delivering the very best of Investec's proposition to them. This role connects the business and clients with the wider marketing team. Strong stakeholder and relationship management is fundamental to the success of this role and ultimately, the impact of the marketing strategy and plans.
In addition to the PECG-specific responsibilities, this role also holds responsibility for the marketing strategy for the cross-client group Advisory business.
Core responsibilities:
Create strategic, best in class marketing plans that make a valued contribution to business objectives and focus on driving acquisition, engagement and retention as required by the individual businesses within the client group
Be the daily point of interaction to PECG and advisory, managing stakeholder expectations and accountability to business for delivery of marketing activity
Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to constantly improve your understanding of the market opportunity and client needs, to engender collaboration and buy-in to your marketing plans, balanced with deft negotiation skills and powers of influence and persuasion
Implement marketing plans (with support from a Marketing Executive), partnering with the Channel Specialists and Brand Activation teams for timely delivery of high impact and creative campaigns, analysing performance data to identify campaign optimisations
Develop and refine business propositions, leveraging inhouse and external resources to develop a deep understanding of the businesses, clients, competitors, etc., to facilitate informed decision making
Mine data in sales journeys, propensity models, our CRM system and campaign performance reports to ensure maximum effectiveness in campaigns
Source creative solutions to business and marketing challenges, drawing on internal and external expertise and establishing feasibility and risk appetite
Be a valued and respected leader within the team, contributing to team dialogue, priority projects and workstreams that benefit UK Marketing, investing time in training and developing of yourself and others
Building and adding value to Investec's brand, protecting it and finding ways to improve awareness
Report on results and progress against plans, for each activity within plan and against budget on a monthly and quarterly basis (as a minimum) and as required
Manage the marketing budget for the businesses to ensure maximum ROI, including reporting on ROI and on utilisation back to the business in monthly marketing meetings
Line management responsibilities of a Marketing Executive, supporting their personal and professional goals
Have a ‘One Investec' mindset to explore opportunities for cross sell outside of PECG including Listed, Private Companies and Private Banking.
Work closely with the Product Marketing Manager to activate marketing campaigns for PECG
Be a PR counsel for our external agency, Lansons
Technical Skill Set:
Strong, creative and relevant marketing skills and experience in identifying, leading and delivering results-driven campaigns for institutional clients
Keen interest in and experience of marketing the products and services offered by PECG and advisory as well as a deep understanding of the wider market environment our clients exist in
Ability to manage and deliver multiple campaigns and projects at pace, both directly and through agencies and the wider Marketing Team
Experience using market insights, business results, competitor insight and client analytics to take a strategic approach to determine the most effective plans
Experience in and the ability to leverage the MarTech tools required to deliver and optimise your marketing campaigns, (eg: DotMailer, CRM, PowerBI, etc.)
Strong time management and prioritisation skills
Strong attention to detail and focus on delivering a high standard of work at all times
Financial services product knowledge and Investment Banking experience preferred
