The Role
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager for Performing Arts, the Marketing Assistant will be a creative self-starter excited by the idea of working in digital publishing and building a brand within the library community. This role presents the opportunity to be part of a highly entrepreneurial and inspired environment that that is collaborative, fast paced, and always looking toward what is next in publishing. The Performing Arts portfolio includes these digital learning resources: Drama Online, Bloomsbury Music and Sound, Screen Studies and Bloomsbury Video Library.
Responsibilities
Be strategic – Assist with and contribute to the execution of the marketing plan for the databases within the performing arts digital portfolio. Help support the expansion of the Bloomsbury brand within this market.
Be creative – Participate in the development and implementation of the global integrated marketing activity for assigned products including but not limited to:

Social Media

E-mail

Partnerships

Event strategy/conference marketing

Digital Marketing

Advertising
Help create marketing materials and plans for the library and academic conferences we attend throughout the year. Work with the Global Conference Manager to ensure digital resources are represented at all appropriate conferences.
Be a Team Player – Work in close association with the global marketing and sales departments to further establish and enhance the brand and that of our products. Act as a group point of contact for the sales teams and help with lead generation for the sales team for product launches and sales campaigns.
Be a Great Communicator – Liaise with other departments, especially Sales, Product Management, Product Development, and Editorial, ensuring open and effective communication.

Additional information
The role is a full-time permanent position with a salary of £25,000 p.a. It will be based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are Wednesday and Thursday.
As an Assistant role, this position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. To assist candidates who want to start and to establish a career in publishing, Bloomsbury offers an interest-free rental deposit to support securing somewhere to live. The rental deposit loan can be up to £3,000 and will be paid back over 2 years.
