The Debt & Capital Advisory team is an integral part of Deloitte's Financial Advisory practice, providing independent advice and world class execution across the full spectrum of debt markets through the Firm's global network. Deloitte Debt Advisory are a team of more than 230 debt professionals in Europe, with ~80 within the UK, making them one of the largest teams operating in the UK and almost certainly the largest globally.
In any given year, in the UK Deloitte Debt & Capital Advisory team close c.100 transactions.
The deal flow the team are exposed to give them an excellent read on the debt markets and where best to source capital. The business has grown at roughly 20% per year every year since inception twelve years ago, and has maintained the original ‘start-up’ mentality throughout that period.

Your role within this high-performance and fast-paced team will be to assist clients achieve their funding objectives which will incorporate a wide range of debt engagements including advice on optimal capital structures, negotiating new money fundraisings, refinancing and restructuring existing debt facilities.
Your role will be in the Alternative Lending focused team within the Debt & Capital Advisory practice, and will be supporting Private companies, either family and founder owned, or Private Equity portfolio companies on debt raises. As a Manager in the Debt Advisory team you will be:
- Working on a range of debt advisory projects with regular interaction with clients, banks, private credit funds, lawyers, advisors and other service lines

Assisting with day-to-day management of transaction processes, including the preparation of information packs, management presentations, financial analysis and client communications
- Financial modelling, including analysing business forecasts, evaluating scenario analysis and covenant calculations

Negotiating commercial terms related to debt structuring within a term sheet
- Contribution to marketing and business development activities

Industry/company research for both deal origination and transaction analysis
- Building a network across the various parties that are involved in transactions (e.g. PE houses, banks, private credit funds, lawyers, advisors and other service lines within Deloitte)
- To have a broad perspective of debt market trends

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- ACA, CFA qualification is preferred but not essential
- A commitment to delivering an exceptional service to clients, with ability to work quickly and establish effective working relationships

Strong numeracy skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to absorb and analyse large amounts of data quickly

Ability to undertake financial/commercial analysis for inclusion in presentations and reports

A sound commercial acumen and understanding of UK financial markets and debt structures

Ability to develop, coach and motivate junior members of the team

Leveraged finance and / or prior debt advisory experience from a bank or advisory firm would be advantageous
